going green

just for st patties day, of course.

grace's new passion is painting. she will sit at the kitchen table with her water colors for over an hour. it's the first thing she asks for in the morning (after "eggs for brefest") and she returns to the activity periodically throughout the day. painting is almost always followed by playing in the sink. she loves to stand on her stool and fill up various bowls and cups for hours...seriously, hours. i wish i had that kind of attention span.

this week we made green shamrocks. i cut out a bunch of four leaf clovers and then we got out every green art supply she had and went to town. we talked about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and tried to make leprechauns sound as non-creepy as possible.
then we strung the finished shamrocks on a green ribbon and hung them in the window.
it makes me so happy to see grace's little art projects strewn all over our home.

i love how her tongue is sticking out while she focuses on her brush strokes.

That's so cute. I love hanging up the kids art work. It makes everything so much more "home" to me. St. Patrick's Day in our house ended with a lecture from Jonas about how mean it was to pinch.

She is so adorable! St. Patrick's day always makes me think of Grandma's dad since we have a dictionary of his filled with a bunch of 4 leaf clovers he used to find. I still can't believe how big your little Grace is getting!
