primary party

i still can't believe my baby grace is in primary. since her birthday is late november, she is the youngest one of the group. i love this photo because she looks so small surrounded by all those big kids. she was (not so) patiently waiting in line for one of the water balloon games and was thrilled to be included with all the other kids. the first game involved two teams racing to water balloons where they had to sit on them, pop them, and then race back to tag the next member of their team.

look how tiny she looks! she was one of the last runners and i could see the determination on her face as she took her turn while her team cheered her on. she was oh so pleased with herself when she succeeded and everyone high-fived her.

i'm so impressed by grace. she has such confidence and is genuinely happy and good. i often tell mark how lucky i feel to get to hang out with her every day.
the other day while i was out with g & viv someone commented that i must have my hands full. i'm sure most mothers get this comment a lot. the only thing i could think of to respond was that my hands are full of good things. this is the easy part of life, right? our biggest issues are naps and messy rooms and those can hardly be considered issues at all. life is simple and wonderful and sometimes i wish i could pause it until i've had my fill of each moment.

I love the sunbeams! I especially love it when the big kids are nice to them. I get the "hands full" comment every time I leave the house. I like your observation--full of good things. I'm going to say that next time. I usually just say "yep!" and keep walking.
