here are a few of the things that have filled our days over the past few months.

let's start back in july ...
the ca state fair. actually a lot more fun than the girls' faces might lead you to believe. although i suppose i can't blame them in this photo ... riding a bale of hay probably isn't that exciting.
said a very tearful goodbye to grama and grampa wilkes. they are now serving their second mission in africa! thank goodness for video chatting :) follow their journey here
we moved! here are the girls enjoying their last meal in the only home they've really known. can you tell i was a bit melancholy about the move? with my wilkes parents gone & a lot of late night packing/cleaning i was a bit emotional that week.
it was all worth it when we settled into our new home. we're very happy to keep the wilkes' manor full until they return. seriously, the first full day that we spent here i was hooked. the girls played out back, i unpacked all our kitchen gear and still had empty cupboards. quite heavenly.
grace started another great year of preschool with miss judy. the summer went by so quickly that it was hard to believe this was actually a new school year.
we got a bunny. hopefully this is just a temporary thing ... we're sort of bunny-sitting until his prior family is ready to have him back! he's cute and all, but awfully smelly. usually we let him have the whole cage to himself.
we harvested the fruits of someone else's labor! this is the garden that grace helped grampa brad plant way back at the beginning of the summer. many a loaf of zucchini bread have come from this patch of earth.
and just last week we took a trip up to portland to meet precious baby penelope.
i'll post more about that one later!
here's the viv enjoying the clay room in the portland children's museum. an awesome place that i wish sacramento would copy.
we've also taken a few trips to tahoe and decided to throw a couple extra kids into the mix - two days a week i watch a little boy about grace's age and his little sister who is close in age to viv.
so there it is. a rather short recap of what we've been up to since viv turned one!

When we lived in Utah I kept hoping my parents would go on a mission so I could take care of their house for them while they were gone. Never happened, unfortunately. Lucky you! Love those pictures, man are your girls adorable.
we're supposed to do the same thing with my parents when they go on a mission next year...we'll get to upgrade from their basement! You always take such cute pictures!
So glad to see some pictures again. Feel like i haven't "seen" you in a while. We seriously need to get together. Seriously. But we leave for Texas soon and won't be back until Nov 8. So maybe sometime between then and Thanksgiving?
yay, more pictures! i was dying over grace in the bunny in the bunny cage. loved seeing you guys and can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!
